Oldřichov v Hájích

The village of Oldřichov v Hájích is located in the valley between the ridge of Špičák and Stržový vrch on the northwest side and the ridge of Olivetská hora and Brdo hill in the southeast. It lies at an altitude of 400 m above sea level and covers an area of 16.25 square kilometres. A well-known tourist spot of the village is Oldřichovské sedlo (or Hemmrich in German), where the Hejnický and Oldřichovský ridges meet. 

            Tourists and visitors will appreciate the opportunity to stop at the village eco-centre that also serves as an information centre. There is also a grocery and convenience store, a bakery and three restaurants. In the meadow behind the municipal office, the youngest visitors to Oldřichov will have fun on a children’s playground. There is also a volleyball court and an open area where numerous municipal events are held.

            Oldřichov v Hájích can be easily reached by train or bus. Car parks are available at the gymnasium (Sokolovna) and in Oldřichovské sedlo.

            A bike trail and an inline track are available for sports activities. Families with children should not miss a visit to the eco-centre, which includes a farm with animals. Educational fun is offered by the Včelí stezka (Bee Trail) located right behind the eco-centre building. The geographical location of Oldřichov v Hájích encourages especially hiking. From Oldřichovské sedlo you can walk along the Oldřichovské bučiny nature trail to Skalní hrad (Rock Castle) located in the territory of the town of Raspenava.
